An Analysis Of The First Theme Syntax In The First Movement Of Haydn Piano Sonata

The syntax is the foundation of musical composition. The structure of Music form was extended from syntax. As a result, the analysis of musical syntax is an important work to the analysis and plays of musical composition.The sonata form is the most important principle of the music form design from the 18th century to the 20th century. At the same time, the first theme is one of the most important structure of the sonata form.This thesis is set in the first theme of sonata form, aims to conclude the processing method of music theme syntax of J.Joseph Haydn(1732～1809)This thesis is made up of two chapters. The first chapter content is discussing about the concept of the first theme of sonata form and syntax, which included the importance and structure type of first theme, the foundation structure and type of the theme syntax in music. The content of the second chapters is the primary coverage of this thesis. In these two chapters, the author carried out an in-depth research to the syntax of the first theme of Haydn and Beethoven piano sonata. Finally, the author summed up the type and compostion principle of the first theme syntax of Haydn and Beethoven piano sonata.
