The Study Of Privatives 'Bu' And 'Mei(You)' In Modern Chinese And Privatives In Korean

'Bu'and'Mei(you)'are the most frequently used negative adverbs in modern Chinese, as well as the difficult grammar points for foreign students in Chinese learning. This thesis mainly aims at studying the fundamental differences between'Bu'and'Mei(you)'when they both express negative meanings, based on the summary and reference to the former relative studies. The database we use in this study is Writers Digest Books.Chapter one is exordium, briefly introduces the status quo of study before, the purpose of this thesis, and the theory, method ,database applied here.Chapter Two mainly represents the different distributions of 'Bu'and'Mei(you)' and describes the structural characteristics of 'Mei(you)+Noun+Verb phrase'.Chapter Three based on the analysis of chapter two, mainly discusses the different meanings of 'Bu' and 'Mei(you)' expressing in negative sentences, and finds out the reasons.Chapter Four studies the usage of 'Bu' and 'Mei(you)' from the aspects of relations between Time and 'Bu'and'Mei(you)'.Chapter Five comparatively studies the similarities and differences between Korean and Modern Chinese in negative expressing and representations of time and aspect; finds out the reasons of misusage of 'Bu' and 'Mei(you)' by Korean students.Chapter Six is the summary of the thesis.
