Research On Marital Happiness Of Urban Residents And The Relationship Between Marital Happiness And Attachment

Marital happiness research in building a harmonious society has important theoretical and practical significance. This study examined the applicability of the MHQ of marital happiness in the urban sense, and explored the relationship between the marital happiness and the attachment. Multiple Happiness Questionnaire (MHQ), Experience in Close Relationships Scale (ECR) and OLSON ENRICH are adopted to evaluate the sample comprising 467 employee and civil servant form Tianjin, analyize data with SPSS 13.0 and LISREL8.70 soft ware. The main findings include the following points: 1. MHQ has good reliability and validity. Confirmatory factor analysis showed that the well-being had two modules including subjective well-being and psychological well-being, and confirmed applicability of the MHQ of marital happiness in the urban sense; 2. Urban well-being index score is 6.84±1.28. the individual had significant differences in age, age of child, family income, family housing, household division of labor, marital status of parents, health status of happiness index; 3. Well-being have a direct positive effect to the marital quality, and respectively the insecure-avoidant and insecure-anxious attachment have a direct negative effect to the happiness and marital quality. We frame relationship models among well-being, attachment and marital quality which have a good goodness of fit. Conclusion: well-being is the incomplete mediating factor which insecure-avoidant attachment affect on marital quality. Based on the results above, the study suggests that individual must be positive and optimistic , and have a high sense of responsibility to his family. Couples should be open their heart and help each other in marriage, and enhance mutual sense of security. Through continuous communication and understanding each other, Couples promote the growth of marriage and family and enhance an individual's marital happiness.
