This paper, starting with Zhou Lianggong's life, talks about his artistic intercourse andcollections. From the point of a theory researcher, I reconstruct his life and the artcircles in that time according to his writings and the writings of his contemporaries. This paper is made up of three chapters. The first chapter describes his official lifeand the era in which he lived, which is also an indirect reflection of his lives as anartist. His artistic intercourse changed with his political career's change; that is to say,his artistic intercourse is inextricably linked to his official life. The second chaptertalks about Zhou Lianggong's collections, which are closely related to his artisticintercourse. This chapter is also an extension of the first chapter. The last chaptersummarizes his aesthetic changes during his lifelong art intercourse, and his tastingopinion of arts, which is inextricably linked to his art intercourse and collections.Zhou Lianggong lived in the era of national change. During the complexenvironment, he became an official in the Qing Dynasty. People passed differentjudgments on him. In my view, his official career contributes to his artistic career andhis political career is closely related to his artistic career, which is the point this paperattempts to clarify. Therefore, by studying his extensive circle of friends, we are likelyto know some information about the paintings, aesthetic notions and art concepts atthat time.
