On The Li Qiao's Early Works

The Yi nationality's writer LiQiao is praised as the pioneer of the Yi nationality's modern and contemporary literature. His great accomplishment in literature has drawn a glittering stroke for Yi nationality's literature.I take the year 1949 and 1965 as two split points to devide LiQiao's creations to three stages:Early stage (1930--1949), medium stage (1949-1965) and later stage (1965-1996). His early creation is the main part to discuss in this book.Relatively speaking, Academic Circles pays close attention to LiQiao's artistic achievement in the later stage, while they didn't pay enough attention to his early creations. In fact, his early creations should not be ignored. LiQiao's early creations started as prose and short stories. The life as a miner brewed the first cup of bitter wine, it also helped him succeed in the creations of his 30 year's age's. His works in the 30 year's age is the accusation tears and blood, is the calling of class, is the beginning of knowing life. Later, The Anti-Japanese War ignited LiQiao's patriotic enthusiasm and his creation fervency. He gave up labor life and joined the army and wrote a series of works about anti-Japanese. The works are the songs of national spirit, the portraiture of that time and the beginning of his brilliant life. If taking LiQiao's medium and later creations as Yunnan's huge twenty centuries historical picture scroll, his early creations is a old album of paintings, recording the foul wind and the biood rain, bearing the weight of lofty sentiments and aspirations of period of the war of Resistance Against Japan soldiers and civilians. Such album of paintings is not delicate and gorgeous, neither has majestic momentum of huge picture scroll. But its every page is fresh and clean and simple, every page leave lingering fragrance, every page makes people feel kind and think deeply. The old color exactly is the costful history trail. Its peaceful narrating reflects his tirelessly and calm after facing life straightly.The book strives to carry out all-round examination on every LiQiao's form of literature works(prose, novel, reportage), to discuss LiQiao's early creation's theme content, creating style, and to analyze the comparison of his early and medium, later creations. When making knowing the differences, affirming his medium and later creations'accomplishment, I will comment on and show the value of the early creations. I hope we can know LiQiao deeply and fully, and pushing forward the research to Li Qiao.
