Film Art as a technical art form, its development and technology innovation are closely related. Into the 70s of the 20nd century, with the rapid development of computer hardware and graphics software, the digital technology brings the charm of the film to a unprecedented level.This paper mainly adopts the method of the literature induction, case comparison study, combining theoretical analysis with practical operation. It is based on the audience's psychology and film aesthetics, analyses and discusses the relationship between digital special effects, the visual tension of film, and the building models of them。It is divided into five chapters. Chapter One is the preface, which introduces the main background, the significance of this study, and the research situation of today; Chapter Two introduces the development history of film special effects, including traditional special effects and digital special effects; Chapter Three, I will analyses the relationship between visual tension and digital special effects, the meaning of digital special effects to visual tension, the psychological mechanism that digital special effects influence the audience, as well as the building models of digital special effects to produce visual tension (shoot, time and space); Chapter Four, I will put the conclusions from chapter three into practice; the last chapter analyzes the problems of Chinese digital special effects, and made corresponding countermeasure research.Therefore, to study the significance and building models of visual tension produced by digital special effects and psychological mechanisms in which digital special effects influence the audience is very important for our country to improve the design and production levels of digital special effects under the existing conditions.
