| The "unity of knowing and practice" opinion is an important aspect in Wang Yangming's philosophy system, which has been continually studied and discussed ever since its proposal. In recent years, this opinion is being re-annotated and applied in education, management and many other areas with the rising of inter-discipline and multi-discipline studies, showing an important research value and significance of the theory itself.This paper intends explore the origin and development of the "knowing and practice" proposition as well as some typical ideologists' opinion of it by investigating the clew of the "unity of knowing and practice" theory's social background, academic background, pertinent situation and relationship with the following "intuitive knowledge" theory so that the difference and relationship of this proposition's meaning in different periods could be displayed and the academic heirship of Wang Yangming's "unity of knowing and practice" theory could be revealed. Also, with the comparison of Wang Yangming and Zhu Xi's different opinion on the "knowing and practice" proposition, the "true knowing true practice" of Wang's theory is expatiated. Further more, the relationship of knowing and practice theory with the combination of "unity of knowing and practice" theory's background and Wang's life experience. Finally, the concept and connotation of "unity of knowing and practice" and "intuitive knowledge" is compared so that the relationship between "unity of knowing and practice" and "Extend the intuitive knowledge" is revealed.The contradistinctive method is applied throughout this paper to explore the "unity of knowing and practice" theory and relative questions and to investigate the interrelationship of its different categories so that the theory's true connotation and whole structure could be comprehended to gain a further understanding and cognition of Wang's "unity of knowing and practice" theory for a comprehensive and proper evaluation.
