A Study On The Theory Of Extention Of The Intuitive Knowledge Of Wangyang-ming

With the rise and development of neo-Confucianism in the Song and Ming Dynasties, there existed a series of systems of philosophy, which have far-reaching historical influences. Among them, Wang Yangming's Idealistic philosophy is regarded as one of the most effective one. When ever we retrospect the Chinese philosophy with nearly a four-hundred-year history, we cannot mention Wang Yangming's Idealistic philosophy. Wang Yangming's Mind Studies is the result from the social background, his family environment, education, personal ambition and his personal experiences. The combination of three religious of Confucianism, Buddihism, and Taoism is the basis of the his Idealistic philosophy, personal ambition is the motive force of the philosophy, his family education background determines the main tendency of his mind, and his full of twists and turns life have promoted the Idealistic philosophy and developed it further. Idealistic philosophy includes three parts: Mind is sense, Unity of Knowledge and Practice, extention of the intuitive knowledge.Extention of the intuitive knowledge is the major part of Wang Yangming's idealistic philosophy, it appears in the literatures of Inquiry on the Great Learning and Instructions for Practical Living. Wang Yangming's Idealistic philosophy is put forward in under the environment of the trammels of the feudal society and Cheng-Zhu Neo-Confucianism at that time in order to appeal people to get away from obstruction of selfish desire, and come back to conscience, preserving the natural decency, dispensing with human selfish desire. The philosophy is full of wisdom of life, infectivity, and attraction. However, under the historical condition, his extention of the intuitive knowledge is also included some philosophy of feudal elements. Thus, in today's highly developing science and technology society, we should keep calm, and make right theoretical choose, discard the dross and select the essence of the philosophy, and make it better serving the society, thus, promote the Chinese traditional culture. From the mentioned above, the paper mainly discusses Wang Yangming's extention of the intuitive knowledge through four parts.The first part states the theoretical basis of Wang Yangming's extention of the intuitive knowledge, then, the paper indicts the social background of the philosophy, at last, the paper generalizes the main process of the philosophy.The second part narrates the decency from four aspects in detail: intuitive knowledge is the noumenon of heart; intuitive knowledge is thinking subject; intuitive knowledge is going with other things; intuitive knowledge is the foundation for human to be saint.The third part is the main part of the thesis, it indicts extention of the intuitive knowledge, it presents in the following two aspects: the connotation of extention of the intuitive knowledge,extention of the intuitive knowledge and Practice extention of the intuitive knowledge.The fourth part discusses the significance of Wang Yangming's extention of the intuitive knowledge, which is reflected in both of historical and modern aspects.
