Wang Xiaonong , a Manchu people, is a well-known Peking Opera playwright and actor who also played an significant role in the reform of Peking Opera. Although his drama practice has drew other's attention since he created the new style of drama and played a role on the stage, no one has analyzed it systematically. With the Peiking Opera Reform as the background and Wang Xiao nong's drama practice as research subject, this essay clarifies his turning of thought and drama practice as a secluded actor in 3 chapters by the way of historical analysis and text interpretation.The first chapter focuses on Wang Xiao nong's life history, analysis on his aspiration combined with his retreating from and being an official through being an actor and resuming this career, and realizes that he fulfilled his life value by drama.The second chapter concentrates on text interpretation of Wang Xiaonong's creation, mainly from these aspects: theme on traditional ethnic and patriotism with expression style of grief and joy; stay feature of works.The third chapter summarizes Wang Xiaonong's practice on directing and performing and analyzes the modernization of his drama communication based on drama advertising posted on the Sheng paper.At last, in the conclusion, it's outlined of Wang Xiaonong's position on drama history in terms of his family background, creation and performance.
