Second half of the 19 th century, Peking Opera was introduced into Shanghai.Pattern of Peking Opera are greatly affected by immigrants in Shanghai city, edge cultural traditions, and inclusive culture after the opening. Performers of Peking Opera has done a lot of innovation,which it has formed its own style. It is a unique cultural landscape different from the traditional Peking Opera and other forms of art.It is called “the Shanghai school of Peking Opera”. There are many representatives of the Shanghai school of Peking Opera. Wang Xiaonong is one of the outstanding representatives. As a pioneer in the reform of the Shanghai school of Peking Opera,Wang Xiaonong advocated reducing the stylized performances,choreographed and performed new plays. What’s more, Wang Xiaonong strongly advocated that the Opera improvements with distinctive progressive tendency.This thesis wants to write Wang Xiaonong’s enlightenment discourse and the characteristics of the Shanghai school of Peking Opera of he represents. Analyze how the Shanghai school of Peking Opera popular on the road to forge in the traditional Chinese Opera. And I explain aesthetic characteristics of the Shanghai school of Peking Opera. For example, through politics to inspire a wise thought demands.It is an aesthetic change from the "vagueness and virtual beauty" to "truth-seeking for the good".As well,there are multiple innovations under the background of marketization.By interpreting the geographical background of the Shanghai school of Peking Opera, the business model has attracted groups of public sectors of consumer. Also makes it completely different from the traditional Peking Opera in performance pattern, content and aesthetic form.In this paper, I put Wang Xiaonong’s dramatic opinions as the starting point.And then I need to study how did Peking Opera derived from the classical forms, and eventually began its modern transformation...
