In 1991, the conception of Emotional Creativity has been generated by Averill, which has drawn widespread concerns at foreign academic circles, and some related research has also made a series of achievements. But there are few empirical studies on emotional creativity in our country. In this study, we revised Emotional Creativity Inventory (ECI) of Averill to make it applicable to the Chinese college students. And then, based on the ECI revised, we discussed the relationship between the emotional creativity, emotional intelligence and cognitive creativity. This study mainly revised Emotional Creativity Inventory, discussed the relationship between emotional creativity, emotional intelligence and cognitive creativity. Participants were from four universities in Shanghai and Anhui, a total of 616 members. The survey data was used SPSS 13.0 and LISREL 8.8 to the main analysis. This survey investigated four main goals: 1, the revision of ECI; 2, the development of the emotional creativity of Chinese college students; 3, the correlation between emotional creativity, emotional intelligence and cognitive creativity; 4, the effect of emotional intelligence and cognitive creativity on emotional creativity. The statistical result indicates that: 1, the original ECI has 30 items, but the 30th item has poor performance in item discrimination, and 4th ,12th ,23rd &29th items reduce the construct validity of the scale, so there are 5 items in ECI have been deleted. The ECI revised (25 items remains) has good reliability, validity and structure, and it is also suitable for Chinese college students. For Chinese college students, in general, there is no significant difference in sex and profession, but the result indicates that there are significant differences in location and grade. The students in Anhui get higher scores on ECI than Shanghai, and the students, and the students in Grade one get higher scores on ECI than other grades; 2, there is weak correlation between ECI and the ability test of emotional intelligence (MSCEIT), but significant correlation between ECI and the self-reported test of emotional intelligence (EIS). It means that, emotional creativity and emotional intelligence are not independent of each other. Otherwise, there is significant correlation between emotional creativity, cognitive creativity and different creativity styles. To be more specific, the one who is good at using of techniques, controlling environment or regulating his behavior and using of his senses, will has a high score on emotional creativity; 3, this study also finds that the cognitive intelligence does not only have straightly influence on emotional creativity, but also works with it through emotional intelligence, it means that emotional intelligence plays an mediating role.
