For thousands of years, Chinese people often associate the beauty of naturewith human morality in the process of appreciation of the beauty. People like usingthe properties of some natural objects (for example: mountain, water, jade, plumblossom, orchid, chrysanthemum and bamboo) to symbolize the noble morality andspirit of the people, namely, this is what we call"the Method of Bide". Tracing to itssource,"the Method of Bide"arising from Pre-Qin Dynasties which is the mostthriving period in the history of Chinese culture. During this period, the socialstructure had drastic changed and various kinds of theories had emerged like a risingwind and scudding clouds, giving rise to cultural prosperity of"Hundreds Schools ofThought Contend"period. The theories arising from this time are very important, theyare the source of the theories that occurred after Pre-Qin Dynasties."The Method ofBide"is one of the most important theories that Generated in the"Axial Age"and hadan very important impact on China's culture in the following time.The earliest people who use"the Method of Bide"consciously is Confuciusamong the Confucianism in Per-Qin Period, and there are many related contents inAnalects of Confucius, such as"He who exercises government by means of his virtuemay be compared to the north polar star, which keeps its place and all the stars turntowards it"(chapter one),"The wise find pleasure in water,the virtuous find pleasurein hills"(chapter six),"pine's endurance can be known from the winter chill"(chapternine)and"The passage of time is just like the flow of water, which goes on day andnight"(chapter nine),thereinto,"Bide with Water"have the greatest influence on thedevelopment of Chinese culture. Confucius'famous saying"the wise find pleasure inwater,the virtuous find pleasure in hills"(chapter six) is the beginning of"the Methodof Bide". Some books such as Mencius,Xuncius,Han Shi Wai Zhuan and Shuo Yuangive a great amount of explanations to"Bide with Water",and have great influence onpeople's art creativity and thinking mode.This thesis takes Hermeneutics as contrast and tries to study the creation process of"Bide with Water". This article is specified in the following aspects: Historical andCultural Traditions, Zeitgeist at Per-Qin Period,and the Interpreters who were thefocus of Historical and Cultural Traditions and Per-Qin Period. The three aspects arecombined with each other as an indivisible and constantly changing unity which themeaning of"Bide with Water"came into being.
