A Research On The Educational Content Of The Reproductive Worship Design From Miao Costume In Shidong Taijiang

As an important part of Miao costume, Hmong costume design contains rich cultural connotations as recording history, passing the Hmong culture and highlighting the unique reproductive values.In this paper, the reproductive worship design in Miao costume is taken as research target, the field study method as the main research method. Based on the investigation in the field, combined with literature on the analysis of Miao clothing, we use the educational anthropology Theory, to explain the educational connotation of the design of reproductive worshipThis thesis is composed of two studies:"Adoration of the Miao Costume design" and "reproductive patterns of educational content of worship"In the first study, through the literature review and field study, we find that the most commonly used and most significant designs are "maple-Butterfly"pattern,"Dragon" logo,"cow" design, "fish"logo and"gourd" pattern respectively. Combined with the related descriptions from Hmong legend, ancient epics and songs, together with the image data of clothing patterns, worship of images dress pattern, reveals the symbolic meaning of reproductive from the costume design.In the second study, on the basis of the description of the costume design, we analysis the educational connotations which are contained in the reproductive worship design, and there are mainly three facets:first, the reproductive patterns of worship reflects Hmong's idea of 'more children, more happiness';second, The second is based on the carrier from the Miao people's idea of 'Child-giving practices',take Miao people's 'cow cloak' in the 'eat so dirty' as a case, we analyze functions of holding children's soul,blessing children's growth, third, through the analysis we find that reproductive worship design is different in different times, it reflects the Miao people's concept of reproductive has changed, and that reveals formation of reproductive value.Through the study of reproductive worship design in Miao costume we find that there're three educational connotations:first, from the costume design in which Hmong's idea of 'more children, more happiness' is symbolized, educational connotation is identified by the Miao people. Second, it reveals Miao people concerning individual life through 'Child-giving practices' in which the clothes are used. Third, it reflects unique reproductive values in different reproductive worship design from different times.
