| The intonation of modern Chinese questions has bearing on the sentence type and pragmatic function. The goal of the research is to find the relation between them. We take the four types of modern Chinese questions as our study objectives, finding the basic law of the rising and falling tone of modern Chinese questions by doing experiment and verifying the natural language. We analysis the causes of the changing tone of modern Chinese questions from two aspects: grammar and pragmatic. Finally, we find the relation between them. This research will help people find the basic law of variation of modern Chinese intonation in future.
