In Digengpo of GaoTai county in HeXi area, the recreational pictures of the M4 graves murals are composed of two pictures:the JiaoDi picture and the Beating A Drum picture. These two pictures are absolutely lifelike superb and extremely vivid. The JiaoDi picture namely XiangPu picture describes two people looking of each other for fighting. They are wearing the same dress—formal pack up short skirt, close-fitting short with tied puttee and barefooted. One man is arching his right leg, straight-kicking his left leg, reaching out his right hand and stretching back his left palm, being ready to attack. The other man is straight-stretching out his left leg with his right leg curved, reaching out his left hand with his right hand on the right side of his body, being ready to defend, what's obviously different is that the defending person wearing a read coat, and the offending a black one. They are hawk-nosed, with deep eyebrow and penetrating eyes. Their hair is divided into three locks. The hairstyle and appearance are just like that of the man in the picture of "Beating A Drum". From this picture, first, we can see that this way of recreation is created by the ethnic minority. It is different from the Han nationality of central Plains. Second, the persons participating in the recreation are also ethnic minorities. After a serious research, the author discovers some unique personalities of these people. First, they have hawk nose and deep eyes, somewhat like SuTe people of Central Asia. Second, they cut off the hair and wear hair decorations, which are originated in QiuCi and YanQi in the western Regions. Third, they wear formal pack up short skirt and tied puttee. They come from SuTe nationality in HeXi area. In the picture of "Beating A Drum", with the drum named He drum or Jia drum, the drum might been created in Kang state and An state of SuTe nationality. Its main function is to correspond to the principal drum. The players might be the JiaoDi players in the hundred-opera. This kind of drum-beating activity is performed for HanWu emperor for the first time, which can be found recorded in DaYuan biography of Records of Historian. Therefore, JiaoDi opera could be originated from the Western Region. Besides, this performance might have other origins like Kang state or An state, because the dances of these states were performed by two persons, with differences in the dancing style and dancing dresses. By analyzing the pictures, we can find that these pictures were painted on the grave of ordinary people, which seriously violates the rules regulated by ceremony and principle. The reason why this violation occurred is that the pictures were created in a special period. That period was of turbulence and intranquility on the central Plains. Therefore, the author believes that, the M4 Grave should be built in period of the 16-states. In this period, Qiang, Hu, XianBei and SuTe people lived in GaoTai area, especially the SuTe. They were sent as an envoy to Tujue representing the Northern Wei. The creational pictures denote that music and dance were merged based on the fusion of different states in Hexi area in the period of 16-states. Thus, the Xiliang music came into being with this function.
