Language is a social phenomenon of human beings, which is means of communication and media to combine human beings with culture. It can change with social development.This paper is from the perspectives of language and culture, which explains'dog expression' among four different langages-Janpanese, Chinese, Korean and English. Then from semantic point of view, it analyzes the differences from similarities. Basing on plenty of examples, it also descibes the reasons of this phenomenon.'Dog expressions' refer to all the expressions contain the word'dog'(phases, idoms and proverbs) among those four different languages. This paper is classified into'dog phrases' and'dog proverbs', including 792'dog phrases' and 692'dog proverbs'. According to the semantics, this paper studies the phenomenon explicitly by comparison.Firstly, this paper studies the relationship between language and culture, dog and human beings, and how they are closely related to everyday life.Secondly, this paper does comparison between dog's concept and image. It is classified into'dog phrases'and'dog proverbs'. From negative, positive and neutural perspectives, it analyzes the differences and similarities among four languages.Finally, by comparising among four different languages in'dog expressions', this paper explain the reasons that cause diiferences from relationship with dogs, ethnic psychology and culture.
