Modern Chinese Dual-syllable Adjectives Duplicated Research

"Germination" is an important grammatical device and a phenomenon in Chinese, which has been widely concerned by the language study. Among the "Germination" adjectives, dual-syllable adjectives are more frequently used, so they occupy an important position. Dual-syllable adjectives can overlap for ABAB-type, AABB-type, ABB-type and A里AB-type. This dissertation mainly studies the ABAB-type, AABB-type and ABB-type Germination of dual-syllable adjectives and focuses on their formation form, the syntactic function, the semantic conditions, the grammatical meaning, rhetoric characteristic and the causation of these words. The paper consists of four parts and the main elements are as follows:First, this part introduces the four types. The dissertation mainly studies the ABAB-type, AABB-type and ABB-type Germination of dual-syllable adjectives. Considering the relation between the germination and words-building pattern, the paper generalize the formation patterns of germination, which include compound word germination, consecutive word germination and additional word germination, then on the basis of statistical analysis, this part presents a comparison. Synchronously, we discuses about several important factors that affect the ability of the germination pattern. These factors contain the semantic condition, emotional characteristic and language applied range.Second, on the aspect of grammatical meaning, grammatical function and expressive function, we compare germination pattern with ground pattern, and conclude these two types serve as an adverbial modifier, a predicator, an attributive, a complement and an object, conclude the changes of dual-syllable adjectives on the aspects of capacity of meaning, evaluated characteristic and kinetic meaning. In addition, we respectively inspect germination pattern and ground pattern serve as an adverbial modifier, a predicator, an attributive and a complement, statistical analyze the all-pervading difference of these two types on the aspect of syntactic function, composite function and language order.Third, the paper discusses about rhetoric characteristic and homothetic function of dual-syllable adjectives.The last, through analysis and comparison to determine the status of dual-syllable adjectives are lexical overlap, and from the Han cultural and psychological point of view, grammatical meaning point of view, typology and cognitive grammar perspective overlapping motivation to conduct investigations. The use of typology and cognitive categories as of principle, confirmed that the main motivation overlapping adjectives is that incremental, and it further points out that the motive of "germination" is the overlapping of ideological fields which takes the form of the linguistic overlapping...
