The Rhetorical Interpretation Of Sports Terms In Modern Chinese

The sports terms in modern Chinese is a kind of professional vocabulary in the Chinese vocabulary system. However, they are different from other kinds of professional vocabulary. They are exceedingly active, especially there are many subjects in semantics that we need to study deeply.This article has five chapters. In the first part, it clarified the significance of sports terms by rhetoric study, and then made a summary of present study. In the second part, we observed the origin of the sports terms we studied in this article, and then studied the relationship between sports terms and rhetoric by producing methods of words, with a detailed anlysis of these producing methods. In the third part, we studied the generalization of sports terms. Although our predecessors have many discourses about this topic, seldom thinks about it by rhetorical view. This thesis found it has great value to attempt by this way. In the fourth part, we analyses the sports nick names existed in sports terms. Firstly we studied its producing ways by rhetorical angle, and then observed the culture connotations loaded by sports terms. In the last part, it made a developing expectation of sports terms, and a brief conclusion of the whole thesis.
