Poetic Symphony

Chu Te-chun is a Chinese painting master in 20th century, he fused the Eastern tradition and western tradition in his paintings together succeededly, and created a large number of outstanding works. In Chu Te-chun's Abstract art, we can feel traditional Chinese art, landscape painting tradition and classical art tradition, the embodiment of his art often show a Yiyun deeply, meaningful Oriental spirit. The Oriental spirit and Modernist paintings fused by Chu Te-chun cleverly without leaving any traces, and modernist art in the West have found their homeland.Chu Te-chun's landscapes inspired by poetry from China, also fused the thought in the art of traditional Chinese culture and landscape of Taoist thought, it is extremely rare in the modern oil painters.In the Chu Te-chun's abstract art, we can feel the traditional Chinese deep meditation and the harmony ideas of poetic, which is the Oriental spirit.In this paper, I would expound detailedly Chu Te-chun's art history, the establishment of abstract style, characteristics of painting language, and Oriental spirit of abstract works.For the research about Chu Te-chun's abstract art is not only beneficial for the Chinese contemporary oil painting to find a road in combined Chinese and Western art direction, but also for a useful reference for the creation of contemporary Chinese oil painting, which is essential to the contemporary Chinese oil paintings.
