As "the hightest literary form", tragedy has always been focused on. The mighty ancient Greek tragedy continues to boom in literary history, while Shakespearean tragedies have been incessantly presented on the stage and moved the audience generation to generation. Although came later, Chinese dram also posesses multitude tragic works. Since the tragedy is the pronoun of these artworks "to present the good destruction", inevitably common places are available, for examples, ended by the ruin of beauty, greatly given aesthetic enjoyment, felt optimistical and pursuit for beauty, and all processed from "heart's death" to" its surival". However, the differences of cuture background and aesthetic habits make the diversity of Chinese and western classical tragedy. From the tragic characters, tragic conflict and tragic ending, this paper analyze the similarities and differences of Chinese and western classical tragedy. Though the comparison, it is found that Chinese classical tragedy is just like the the autumn tale with warm and peace, and the heros always have a tale ending and happy live after difficult experiences; while the western are like fierce summer, used to end the sultriness by the thunder and downpour, same as western classical tragedy ended by by extreme ways to solve the ragic conflicts. However, both of them present the same tragic spirit:surpass of the destruction as well as the unyielding spirit and outbroken during such surpass. After the interpreting of both tragedies, we found that tragedy are one of the most valuable spiritual wealt, and the nobilility of human presented makes people aloof from the pure material life and sensory indulgence, and fight against all twisted factores of human spirits. But unfortunately, Chinese contemporary literature circle is lack of such heartshaking tragic works, while the author tries to reveal this trigic spirit to riticize the pulp creation ethos and calls for the appearance of tragic works pocessing the real tragic spirit.
