The Influence Of The New Culture Movement On Clothing Evolution In Republic Of China

New Culture Movement advocated the sprit of Democracy and Science, as well as people-oriented idea of individuality emancipation and personality independence, which had great influence on the development of China. The movement that the ideological revolution and cultural innovation were intertwined not only refresh people's ideology, but also blending Chinese and western cultures in the conflict, thereby promoting the modernization transformation of Chinese culture.In this thesis, after reviewing the basic content and the spiritual essence of the New Culture Movement, the author elaborates the main contribution of this movement to the development of Chinese culture. The author not only discusses the influence of promotion that the New Culture Movement made on clothing evolution in Republic of China in the macro-level of ideas and material base, but also reveals the influence of the New Culture Movement on clothing evolution in Republic of China in micro-level, such as the change of People's aesthetic psychology and value orientation as well as clothing style and dressing style.Studies show that the New Culture Movement created favorable conditions for clothing in Republic of China and accelerated the pace of the clothing evolution at that time. Clothing in Republic of China could be more vital by cultural exchange and innovation.
