Eyemovement Research On Influence Of Presentation And Proposition Attributes To Diversity Effect Of Inductive Reasoning

Induction reasoning is the process of making inference from finite samples of instances to general category .It implies or generalizes our knowledge or experience about the world. Diversity effect in inductive reasoning is a very important psychological effect. It refers to the same conclusion in the category within the premise of diversity can bring more categories to judge the intensity of the psychological phenomenon of induction. Eye movement recording method can dynamically record and reproduce the whole process of inductive reasoning. This study investigates presentation and the proposition attributes to diversity effect of inductive reasoning with eye movement recording method.In this study, we designed two experiments, In the first experiment,we investigate presentation and proposition attributes to the picture material diversity effect of inductive inference.In the second one,we investigate presentation and proposition attributes to the text material diversity effect of inductive inference.Both of the experiments were adopted by 2 x 2×2 experimental design.In this study, we concluded the following conclusions:1. When people deduce the diversity and non-diversity proposition, it shows diversity effect. Diversity of proposition induction intensity is stronger than non-diversity proposition.2. People in the picture material and text material during the performance of inductive reasoning diversity effect were significantly different, the specific attributes of the induction of non-diversity of written materials is stronger than the same kind of image intensity material. Picture material fixation times and the number of regression were significantly more than the text material, and fixation duration is shorter than the written word. 3. Proposition attributes to the diversity effect of inductive reasoning were significantly affected, the specific attributes of the induction force stronger than the intensity of the blank property induction. Specific attributes of the total fixation time and attention were significantly more than the number of empty properties.4. The presentation of the diversity effect of inductive reasoning was not significant.
