With China's entry into the WTO, there are more and more transnational cooperations, business negotiations and international conferences, etc, which require more and more interpretation activities and interpreters. Consecutive interpretation is one of the most popular and most extensively-used forms of interpretation. In interpretation, accuracy is, and has always been, one of the most important criteria to judge the quality of CI.There have already been a lot of interpretation experts and practitioners who have proposed a lot of tactics to improve the quality of interpretation, especially the accuracy of interpretation. However, few of them have proposed tactics from the perspective of an Effort Model of CI. As Listening Analysis, note-taking and memory are considered to be the basic conditions for the interpreters before they receive professional training; these elements are usually ignored during the training process. Enlightened by Daniel Gile's Effort Model of CI, the author has made relevant theoretical analysis, as well as a case study (including the questionnaires) .The subjects are 9 postgraduates from Grade two of Graduate Institute of Interpretation and Translation, SISU. The author makes a comprehensive analysis of each subject's rendition, notes as well as survey. Through analysis of each part, the author has discovered that the three parts of listening analysis, note-taking and memory are crucial to the accuracy of interpretation, especially the accuracy of CI. Based on the analysis, the author has proposed relevant strategies to improve the accuracy of CI, as well as his suggestions on Interpreter Training. The author hopes that this thesis will provide reference for interpreters as well as interpretation lovers to improve the accuracy of CI. What's more, the author also hopes that the thesis will make contribution to the consecutive interpreter training.
