The beautiful season of spring symbolizes the existence of human's ever changing vitality in time. OuYang Xiu pours consciousness of life, love, friendship and aesthetical sentiment into his 75 Spring-praising poetries. Sorrow expressed by the poet, is shown as his sentiment on life and time. However, from complaining to appreciating time passed, the spring of life and spring of nature has merged into one. Spring-praising poetries also reflect a state of prosperity.When Ou writes poetries on desperation and love, often it is through a foil of scene in spring time, mood describing, and personal thinking. Ou's attempt to voice out for feminism, fall short to recollect a deeper meaning in life, but only end up enslaved by love long lost. He shows sympathy for female who has no control in life, and attack on heartless playboys.Friendship is much value by OuYang Xiu. To treasure spring and parting are of equal importance for Ou, and his verses that are rich in philosophical thinking also show deeper meaning in life.OuYang Xiu likes the dynamic imago of wind, birds and flowers.Also, the spiritual strength shown in his poetries is rather outstanding.
