The wedding culture in China has a long stand history and profoundcultural foundation. Traditional Chinese wedding ceremony contains six proceduresin total: Nacai, Wenming, Naji, Nazheng, Qingqi, Yingqin. However, in modernsociety, the attitude and aesthetic standards of Chinese people towards weddingceremony has changed a lot due to rapid economy developing rate and influence ofwestern culture. Comparing to ancient wedding ceremony, modern Chinese weddingbecomes simpler in ceremony and closer to western. As a result, the traditionalChinese marriage culture is facing the challenge of diversified global culture. Hence,finding the beauty of tradition wedding ceremony requires modern people to lookinto it in aesthetic vision.In this thesis, we will be researching on traditional Chinese wedding culturefrom three perspectives. Chapter one will be analyzing the Inheritance and changeof Chinese marriage formation, people’s attitude toward marriage and weddingceremony. Chapter two will continues digging into ceremony, images, and text oftraditional Chinese wedding and will be considering about these issues in aestheticsense. The last chapter will be study on the influence of ethical aesthetic value,humanity aesthetic value, and commercial aesthetics value toward traditionalwedding ceremony.
