The system of Chinese films has reformed substantially since the 1990's. As the market economy prospers, Feng Xiaogang has grasped the opportunity,made innovation, and got the achievement. Feng Xiaogang promoted Chinese first inland New Year film"Party A, Part B"in 1997, and from then on he won his fame worldwide. Then, he promoted other films one after another with a high audience rating of each. Although audiences like Feng's movies, there are some disputes or veiled criticism about his works in film critical circles and critical circles of culture. Feng works hard and changed that phenomenon till"Assembly". Feng's film has become one kind of cultural phenomenon, with a brand effect in the audience. What is the secret of Feng Xiaogang's success? Why his movies did compete with the Hollywood movies? The success of Feng's movies is not only because Feng Xiaogang has conformed to the historical trends of times but also because he has seized the opportunity and taken advantage of his potential of creation. Even if the narrating rhythm and style have changed in his transformation works, he still created the miracle of high box-office value by the credibility of his movies. Apart from the attraction of his films themselves, commercial operation patterns which he adapts also contribute to the success of box-office value of his movies. Feng is good at audiences psychology is another reason. This paper, starting from the perspectives of Feng's creative intention and audiences'aesthetics expectation, aims to interpret the performances and effects of the combination of these two elements.The first part is Feng Xiaogang's intention, including commercial interest, audiences'demand and self-enhancement.The second chapter is audiences'aesthetics expectation under the society cultural context, namely economical cultural reforming and mass culture starting; and Chinese traditional psychology.Chapter three do the effects analysis of Feng's films through Feng's intention and audiences'aesthetics expectation comparison research. This part mainly tells the theme, the narration, the character, the stage lines and the post-modernity.The last part is Feng's movies'insufficiency and esthetics enlightenment.
