The Mandatory Capture By Expression

The human has a strong ability to recognize the face. this phenomenon is attention to many researchers. Researchers believe that the specificity of face recognition is reflected in two aspects. First, face can be processed specially. Second, competed with other objects, the human face recognition is special. They are the two level of processing characteristics: face perception and face attention. The interactional of the two capacities, making face processing easier.In this study, I used the paradigm Inhibition of Return to explore this issue. Experiment 1 investigated the competition between face and house. Experiment 2 investigated the competition between neutral face and emotional faces. The results is showed: compared with house, the neutral face can capture attention mandatory, but expression can not produce such effects. emotional types of saccade latency were significantly different. In the neutral faces and emotional faces competition, each emotional category of saccade latency were not significantly different. Concluded that: do not be coercive emotional faces capture attention, to capture the phenomenon that only exists in the early stages of processing of neutral faces. There is another face of Mood processing pathway, from the interference of the capture phenomenon.
