The classics has influences on modern Western culture by the three ways: translation, imitation and innovation. In fact, these three pathways are suitable for the heritage of Western classical works in different historical periods and different cultural backgrounds. For Rome, it sets up its own style through translating and imitating the Greek works. This article is based on this heritage from the perspective of literature through analyzing the Western classical works mainly in literary works and historical works, and explored how the ancient Roman authors imitate ancient Greek works and create a new Latin culture in aspects of literature and their thoughts.It is seen from the overall perspective to make significance on Rome from the Greek influences in chapter 1 and outline the reason and process of the Roman authors'imitation of the Greek works in chapter 3 on the background of Roman history.On the micro level, the author analyzes and generalizes the classical works mainly in literary works such as drama, rhetoric, lyric poetry, epic poetry, literary theory and novel to learn the innovative details in chapter 2, whch is the major part.In the epilogue, it is summarized that the ancient Roman authors are used to imitating, learning, reconciling and innovating the Greek works from the ancient Rome to the 3rd century A.D.. The relationship between Latin and Greek culture is full of imitation, suspicion, competition and respect, and the former is growing in progress.
