Anna Comnene, as the daughter of the outstanding Emperor of Byzantine Empire Alexiusâ… Comnene and his wife the Queen Irene, was born in the purple house of the palace in 11th Century. With born in the palace, she was well educated and owned profound literature attainment, which all led to her work, her father's biography. After the Alexiad's presentation, because of its value and importance, Anna was regarded as one of the rare eminent woman historians, and she also holds an important position in the field of medieval literature and history. In this work, with her pen Anna displayed the whole picture of the Empire under Alexiusâ… , which includes politics, economics, military, culture, religions and so on, so that it shows Alexius's ideas on controlling the country and his deeds; besides, Anna also reminded and summarized her past in this work.This paper, which includes three parts, following the life of Anna, gives an account of her growing from a baby in the purple house to be a honorable Princess. The first part mainly presents her life, narrates her education and marriage, displays Anna's idea on family and her relationships, as well as the key persons'impact on her; the second part is the core, and it mainly narrates the adult Princess's longing for power. This part expounds from three aspects, Anna's religion passion, woman perspective and concept of imperial power. Anna's competition for power was deeply influenced by her grandmother Dalassena. Crush of the political dream made Anna rethink her life. The third part narrates the Princess in Covent. This part mainly expounds Anna's reflect and the writing; shows the purpose of the writing and the background; and last, pays attention to Anna's crying out of her life and destiny through Anna's Strongly undulate idea and her lyric writing, Anna's writing style is also being noticed. The conclusion makes a summary of the paper. Through Anna's life the destiny of the women in the palace can be seen clearly; with portrait of Anna, the unremitting strike of women under men's control is shown, all of these shows that in the history women never stopped withstanding the society of men.
