Implicit Association Test are increasingly attracted researchers in the field of cognitive attention, and has been widely used, which contains almost the majority of focus and hot spots in the social cognition. While Implicit Association Test is used in many researches, many researchers discuss the internal mechanism of the method from different point of view. In general, the more valuable theoretical explanations can be summarized as the following six models: (1) the concept of network model which is assumed by most researchers; (2) De Houwer (2001) proposed stimulus - response consistency model; ( 3) Brendl, Markman, and Messner (2001) proposed the random walk model; (4) Mierke and Klauer (2001) proposed task set switching model; (5) Rothermund and Wentura (2001,2004) proposed the graphic - the background asymmetry model; (6) Karpinski and Hilton (2001) proposed environmental coupling model.Conrey et al propose quad model to explain the Implicit Association Test. The quad model assumes that implicit social cognition does not only simply reflect the automatic measuring process, but also includes a variety of different processes. Based on this, they proposed the quad model and the experimental results show that the model has good validity. The model is a multi-normal model, which divides the reaction of implicit measure into four different processes: AC, the connection of automatic activation; D, that is to make the right response discernment; OB, to overcome the automatic activated link; G, which in the absence of other available information, the response bias to guess. In this study, which is based on psychological process, I use The quad model to discuss the internal psychological mechanism on IAT effect. The research provides a valuable interpretation to the internal psychological mechanism on IAT effect. Implicit Association Test concern that the concept of link stored in the extraction process, based on this, this study used the existence of the real attitude of the individual objects as research material, rather than pseudo-words used as research material or geometry. This study use young and old pictures as stimulus, which will measure the subjects'implicit attitudes.Through three experiments, we obtain the following conclusions:1, Independent features had no affect on the process of AC(automatic process) , but had significant affect on the process of OB .2, Category label do not only have affect on the process of AC, but also on the process of D.3, Start stimulating had no significant effect on the IAT, IAT can measure relatively stable individual's implicit attitudes.4, The IAT measurement process includes four processes: AC, OB, D, G. Using the quad model to analysis the results showed that the final results can be explained by four parameters.5, The existing explain of internal psychological mechanisms on IAT effect can only explain one of the four process , Based on The quad model ,IAT includes a controlled processes and automatic processes, the existing interpretation of IAT effects model may only explain the process of automatic or control.
