The Religious Vicissitude Of Gannan Pastoral Area In The Modernization Course

On the whole, Tibetans of the Gannan Tibetan autonomous district believe in Buddhism deeply. They live near by a monastery or center of religion and belong to it in religion. They are the permanent giver of the monastery, which has formed a lot of communities. Because of differences in politics, culture and environment, there are different Tibetan communities with different faith characteristics of Tibetan Buddhism. Along with the reform and opening-up and modernization in China, traditional Tibetan society is going through the reorganization of social and economic structure, and the regeneration of culture ideology. Therefore, the new change has appeared in Tibetan Buddhists in different communities.This thesis has selected the Gannan Tibetan autonomous district and the pasture areas of Maqu,Luqu as subjects; I will analysis the change and development of Tibetan monks and believers in Tibetan Buddhism Belief, which bases on my field survey and materials, with the methods of religion, ethnology and history. Since the reform and opening-up, we get some achievements and success on development of socialist and modernization, but compared with other areas, ethnic minority areas have some problems and hindrance in development, in respect of economy, environment, culture, education, ideology and so on.The modernization development of Gannan pastoral areas also has the problems given above.The thesis emphasizes the respect of ideology of the Tibetan people of Gannan pastoral area, the point of religious faith. The thesis bases on ethnic culture, religious material, through theoretical analysis to sum up that in the modern society the development trend and influence factors of the ethnic religion, so as in the new era to offer some theories for the coordination between social development and ethnic religion.
