Analyzing Archetype Of Father And Archetype Of Mother In Black Horse And North River

Following Muslim writer Chengzhi Zhang's novel Why the Riders Singing Mother won the National Excellent Short Story Award in 1978, he had published another two influential novels Black House and North River successively in the eighties. The two novels at the time had brought out huge repercussions. Today, we are still able to be moved by an indescribable something from the work. Thus, critical articles on the two works have appeared in succession. These comments were covered by the historical, social, cultural, human and aesthetic fields. But very few people discussed the archetype image and the collective unconscious from the perspective of archetypal criticism. This paper took example by and absorbed previous research, starting from the work, had a profound and detailed analysis and interpretation about the archetype of mother and father in works with Carl Jung, Northrop Frye's archetypal criticism. When analyzing specific image, the paper combines the work itself, using my own views as possible, and strive to achieve a comprehensive and objective analysis.This paper introduced something about the background of prototype criticism in brief, sorted out the relevant concepts, discussed several types of the mother image in the history of modern Chinese literature respectively, and in the process of discussion, combined with the particularity of Chinese history and the large background, did a systematic and comprehensive analysis and research on the development about the mother image in the use of feminism, Maslow Humanistic Psychology in the hierarchy of needs theory and Freud's psychoanalysisOn that basis, combined with closely archetypal criticism this paper gave the interpretation of the "Black Steed" "North River" in the mother and father prototype,and analysised the performance of image "amount of Kyrgyzstan, " Suomi Ya and her mother's "Lady" in the novel.
