Discuss On The Femininity Complex Of Su Xuelin's Works

Su Xuelin is one of the famous women writers after the May Fourth Movement, who made distinguished achievements not only in novels and prose but also in the theater and poetry, even in academic research. She as well as Lu Yin, Bing Xin, Feng Yuanjun holds an outstanding place in modern Chinese literature history. Su Xuelin's special position as a writer, scholar, poet and professor makes it important and necessary to make a deep study of her and her works.However, for long the study of Su Xuelin hadn't been furthered under certain circumstances, nearly coming to a stop before the 1980s, despite the fact that she is recognized as "a well-known, profound, successful and influential female writer"This thesis mainly discusses the feminine consciousness of Su Xuelin's works, by using the literary theory of feminism and combining her life and character, hopefully promoting the research of the May Fourth works by women writers.This thesis consists of four chapters. Chapter 1 summarizes the results and deficiency of the research of Su Xuelin, which will form the research foundation of this thesis. Chapter 2 analyses the influence of Su Xuelin's life and thoughts on her literary creation, especially on how to understand Su Xuelin's feminine consciousness. Chapter 3 deals with the feminine wake-up reflected in Su Xuelin's works and the school of her writing, chiefly from four aspects:love of mother, marriage, childlike innocence and religion in the form of details. Chapter 4 makes a summary of Su Xuelin's position and significance in modern literature history, putting her example in the background of the May Fourth Movement female literature.
