Based on the Romance in Ming Dynasty, this article will analyze its value orientations, moralization and means of artistic expressions, in order to explore the unique departments of the Romance in the Ming Dynasty.The first chapter outlines two value orientations in the Romance in Ming Dynasty. One is concerned about social responsibility, emphasizing in Confucian ethics and rational admonition. The other puts emphasis on spiritual pursuits, focusing on human nature itself and the level of emotional experience, showing a trend of "immoral". The second chapter analyzes the theme of the romance in the Ming Dynasty. The first section studies the novelists' moral standpoints and adjustments, such as sentimental description on the background of the unification of sense and sensibility; inclined to sense or sensibility while they conflict. No matter which positions the novelists choose, they reflect the novelist pay close attention to the moral significances of the love stories. The second section analyzes how the novelists expostulate in the framework of strange stories involving devils and gods, rewarding the behaviors that obey the morality, or punishing the behaviors that violate the rules of the ethics. Through the positive and negative manners, the Romance in the Ming Dynasty have completed moralization toward people ranking from the officials to the civilians.The third chapter makes a detailed analysis of artistic expressions of the Romance in Ming Dynasty. First, the poetry language of the character, the novelists' intend to convey inner moral conviction through monologue and aside. Second, dissuasive remarks. The conspicuous forms, both the characters talking of morality in the stories and the novelist comments on ethics, indicate the novelists'value judgments. Third, allegorize of the rhetoric, via personifications, metaphors, and reversal stories, prompting readers to think deeply of the inner dissuasive meaning in the stories.
