The Daily Life Narration Of Novels In The 20th Century In China

Daily life is the basis of individual's existence and life which has those features of ontology, individuality, repeatability and utilitarianism. The daily life narration, which is seen as mini-narration, is based on the daily lives of individuals. In the previous 80 years in the 20th century, the enlightenment, national salvation, revolutionary war and state building have been the mainstream of the development. Correspondingly the grand narration such as enlightenment narration and revolution narration is in the dominant status and the daily life narration has been at the edge which is criticized and extruded even controled by political ideology. In the latter 20 years of the 20th century, market economy recesives rapid development after the reform and opening policy and mass culture develops vigorously. At the same time, daily life obtains the independent status gradually. Thus the daily life narration in the novels also receives the legal status and shows resolution and subversion to the grand narration. Firstly this paper defines the concepts of the daily life and daily life narration. Secondly taking the daily life narration in 20th century's novels as main object and the relationship between the daily narration and grand narration as clue, the paper rationalizes the track of the daily narration in 20th century's novels according to the order. Then the paper analyses performance of the daily narration and artistic style through giving the key writesr and key works thorough description which exist three different periods in details. The aim is to present a whole face to the daily narration in Chinese novel of 20th century.
