"It is remarkable how closely the history of the apple tree is connected with that of man", said Henry David Thoreau, which aroused my interest to compare LeClézio's works with , a book from a different domain. In LeClézio's works there are many"vagrant"characters which resemble the revolution of"seeking a wild apple"appealed by botany. This revolution is believed the regular development of agriculture is abandoned, and another unusual"wandering"road is chosen by botany. Based upon the resemblance, from the angle of complex ecological philosophy, this thesis studies the reasons, processes and destinations behind the resemblance followed by three chapters. The first chapter, through the analysis of two disasters in literature and botany respectively, summarizes it is the same reason, the indifference to the complexity of ecological system based on anthrocentrism, which forced people from the two fields to the same road of wandering. The second chapter studies the semblable processes of the two domains. On the one hand, the vagrant disintegrated the superstition of wealth and technique, revived its complexity; on the other hand, botanist disintegrated the single standard of value, proposed the variety of ecological genes. It is believed the two processes possess the same meaning: greeting the new significance's emerging during the construction of complex ecological philosophy. The third chapter analyzed the future of the two domains. The vagrant will set free the spirit to the nature, and keep the self-remolding all the time. Meanwhile botanist appeals the fulfillment of the highest value of life, and proposes the continuous doubt about the method and concept of planting. The author believes the same destination of the two domains lies in two aspects: the developing thinking which can break down the closed cycle, cultivating a dynamic world view.
