Chinese Cultural Conservatives' Imagination On The Cultural Reconstruction

Since the Opium War, the Chinese intellectuals have begun to reflect on the whole traditional culture system through the communication with western culture."Cultural reconstruction" has been proposed and became the contemporary issues.Based on the《Declaration on China-centered Culture》,《A Manifesto on the Reappraisal of Chinese Culture:Our Joint Understanding of the Sino-logical Study Relating to World Cultural》and《2004 Cultural Declaration》,the writer tried to analyze the scholars' background,circumstances and purpose who trusted the cultural conservatism in contemporary China on their imagination of "Cultural Reconstruction".No matter in 1930s or 1950s or even now, things they have done in order to achieve the "Cultural Reconstruction" is still a dream,these three culture declaration proved it.While valuing moral knowledge or nature knowledge,the three Cultural Declarations reflected the spirit of the "cultural ego", "cultural id "or" cultural freedom" .As spectators of history,the China's cultural conservatives can't participate in social practice.Their ideals can not be realized.Generally speaking, many scholars had no opportunities to participate in social practice.They published articles in various publications and attended in various academic conferences,but they can't play a social role.The authors of《A Manifesto on the Reappraisal of Chinese Culture》belonged to this kind of person.Also,they are lack of self-confidence.《Declaration on China-centered Culture》and《2004 Cultural Declaration》expressed an open mind. The authors are engaged in different occupations.The direction and principle of Chinese culture development and principles needs the traditional Chinese culture quintessence in the future. Just in this way, the culture development in China could come into a positive cycle, special socialist culture will also be constructed, and nation culture of China will finally get a good position in the world culture.
