On The "v Shang" Nuclear Semantic Features - Contact' Cognitive Schemata

The semantic problems of directional-verb shang, "Vshang" of which combined with the verb,and the sentence which include "Vshang", which even now peoples cannot obtain an agreed conclusions and opinions. In this paper, based on previous studies, the author propose a new view that the directional-verb shang connotes nuclear meaning of contact, different verbs and shang combination had the different typical contacts combined by different verbs and shang include specific -contact, semi-specific and abstract-contact, abstractive contact. The specific-contact includes moving-contact, linked-contact and add-contact; semi-specific and semi-abstract contact includes acquired-contact and achieved-contact; abstract-contact includes psycho-contact and state-changes. At the same time, the semantic features of the sentence include "Vshang" are described and analyzed, and explained by the intentional-schema theory and metaphor theory of cognitive linguistics. The paper includes five chapters.The introduction mainly describes the research object, theory ,methods, research status and our point of view: the nuclear-semantic feature of the directional-verb——contact, and the analyses of the meaning types and their influencing factors of "Vshang".The first chapter: introduce schema theory. According to the "Vshang" and the meaning of the "Vshang" sentence, it is put into three categories: specific-contact, semi-specific and abstract-contact, abstractive contact. And analyzed three types of specific -contact: moving-contact, linked-contact and add-contact.The second chapter: analyzed two types of semi-specific and semi-abstract contact: acquired-contact and achieved-contact.The third chapter: analyzed the two types of the abstract-contact schema: psycho-contact and state-changes, explained their characteristics .The fourth chapter: to analyzed the match situation of "Vshang" structure and verbs, the combination situation of different types of verbs and the shang , Ambiguity phenomenon of the "Vshang" structure and to analyzed the reason about the phenomenon.
