Modern Chinese Reduplicated Form Continuum Aanlysis

Chinese reduplicated phenomenon is a complex problem,which has been great important to be attached by linguists,and was be researched in-depth and extensively. Based on the integral viewpoint and full attention to the relationship of the whole and the parts, to explore the sub-classes of reduplicated forms of noun, adjective and verb in Modern Chinese,and to try to show the panorama of Modern Chinese Reduplicated Form Continuum and to explain the cause of them.The first chapter, to be a brief overview of the history and the current development of Modern Chinese Reduplicated Form and to explain the research scope, research object and corpus sources of the paper.The second chapter, to analyze the semantic features of the sub-class of the reduplicated forms of noun,adjective,verb and quantifier in different syntactic position.From the known fact ,to infer the space typicality of reduplicated form of the noun is less than its source, and the more abstract the noun, the weaker about its space typicality of its overlapped, the easier to diffuse and permeate to its approximal catagory; Adjective reduplicated forms reflect certain quantity characteristics, and to contrast with the influence of syntax position to quantity, the internal structure of reduplicated form is more; The reduplicated form of verb belongs to the catagory of "aspect", to express small quantity, little quantity and light quantity in specific sentence with certain partiality, to need specific analysis.The third chapter, to research the continuum of the reduplicated forms of noun, adjective, verb in grammatical function. From the examples, to be concluded the continuum of the reduplicated forms of noun and adjective is uni-directional permeating from space to quantity by meaning abstracted and derived, and the continuum of the reduplicated forms of noun and verb is bi-directional expanding between adverbial-quantity and verbal-quantity in the sub-type of the both by adverbialization and verbalization.The fourth chapter, to mainly research the cause of the Modern Chinese Reduplicated Form Continuum, that has three reasons: First, it is original knowledge about world, the things in wrold are a contiuum, the continuum in language only reflect the reality; Second, it is the influence of the word-class continum framework in modern chiese; Third, it is the type influence of the reduplicated form, the same types make similar semantic features, and then make similar syntactic functions.
