In the coming era of visual culture, TV works play an extremely important role in the field of culture with its fast means of communication, extensive coverage and a huge audience. Especially, since the new century, domestic TV play has been exploding and its quality has also been improved significantly compared with former. In form, the obvious characteristics of stereotype appear. For any type of TV plays, they simultaneously inherit the legend narrative from Chinese traditional literature to present "legend" character from different angles. The main reason for such a feature is the demand of mass context, and it means that the mass-based popular culture defeats the elite culture. In some types of drama, ordinary heroes, who are different to the traditional perfect images of hero, becomes more and more popular. The ordinaries even shortcomings in heroes do not be avoided, creating a series of heroic images with personalities and public aesthetics to meet public desire for the "saga".There are some types of TV plays with the theme of secular life of ordinary people, excavating the legend in the marriage and daily life of ordinary people. The narrative mode of "secular legend" is attracting large audiences. Moreover, some TV play aims completely at "entertainment" just for stimulating the watching desire of people. The deliberately designed story background or characters are far from public life. Exaggerated expression or expression focusing on contradicts brings the public with new feelings. Such kind of "entertainment legend" is the main embodiment of commercial cultural market.Based on the systematic researches of "legend" narratives and the background of mass context in the times of consumption, this paper explores the "legend" narratives in domestic drama since new century and tries to summarize the commons and model of TV work creation.
