"Margin Leaving"has always been concerned as a vital part of the black-white system of Chinese painting. Nowadays, it is a task for art practitioners to explore the relationship between"Margin Leaving"and further developed with vitality and vigor in new era. To further research the essence of Chinese painting,"Margin Leaving"is an important part which can not be omitted.On the basis of predecessors, scientific knowledge including philosophy, aesthetics and history of fine arts has been applied to this article for illustrating subjective-objective factors produced by aesthetic value of the margin leaving. It helps to make a more detailed exploration of the deep relationship between margin leaving and traditional"brush and ink","ideological and practical work". Time extended to the contemporary, we study the abstract changes of landscape painting and experimental Chinese ink painting about margin leaving as well as its practical significance."Margin Leaving"can be demonstrated with the Chinese painting through a series of methods: from the ancient till now, along with the historical evolution, using classic painting quotations, induction on reference books, contrast to Chinese and Western painting, and as an example of various periods and works.Firstly, this article describes the aesthetic connotation of"Margin Leaving"in Chinese painting system, and then viewed from aesthetics and philosophy to expand discussion and point the theme. Subsequently, we research the aesthetic imagery of"Margin Leaving"on Confucianism and aesthetic demands of ancient painting with"All Efforts Implied in Blank". From this article, we can learn about the emergence and development of sense on"see the real to learn virtual". In addition, dialectical relationship of"Margin Leaving"to vain, subject-object from black and white, have already been analyzed. All of above indicates that the status of"Margin Leaving"increased gradually. Immersed in the ink landscape painting, the"Margin Leaving"can stimulate people's imagination and character sentiment. As time goes by, newer concept of"Margin Leaving"continuously updated: from traditional to modern, and then to contemporary. Attribute to the space of imagination and aesthetic characteristics of virtual reality,"Margin Leaving"plays an important role in the field of ink painting. Meanwhile, contemporary artists have transferred the performance of abstract brush and ink to a more freehand area, in order to endow ink language with contemporary features.
