| Foreign language teaching materials play an important role in foreign language teaching and also influence the teaching effect. Nowadays, a wide range of Senior English course books are available on the market. Thus it is very necessary to evaluate different kinds of senior English course booksThis research makes a comparison between PEP senior English course books and BNUP senior English course books by using AHP (the Analytic Hierarchy Process) and Fuzzy Comprehensive Evaluation. One of the purposes of this thesis is to help teachers to find proper course book and adapt it. The other purpose is to provide some suggestions to the compilers of the senior English course books.By evaluating and analyzing the course books, the study finds that the users of BNUP senior English course books give higher remarks to their course books than the users of PEP does. In fact, both course books have advantages and disadvantages. BNUP senior English course books embody the idea of students centered, provide some useful suggestions to the students and leave a wide room for students to do self-study. Besides the course books pay attention to students'ability in actual use of language. The advantages of PEP senior English course books are: the arrangement of the contents, the selection of vocabulary and the arrangement of the grammar points. But in the mean time, the study also finds the problems that exit in both the two senior English course books. One problem is that the teaching contents are too much for the language teachers to finish in time. The other problem is that some of the teaching contents are too difficult and beyond the students'learning level. All of the weak points are worth noticing by the compilers of all the senior English course books.
