The monk poets'social intercourse and creation in Yuan Dynasty was closely related to the secularization of Buddhism, the gathering of scholars and the interaction between monks and laymen. As a result of many reasons, academic circles pay little attention to monk poets. Because monk poets were active in social activities and poetry creation in the middle and the late stages of Yuan Dynasty, and there are no related systematic research products in the academic circles so far, the author planed to study their poetry creation beginning with the study of their social intercourse. This thesis is divided into two parts. Part one is the macroscopic inspection, including four chapters, namely the inspection of the background of monk poets in Yuan Dynasty, the regional distribution of monk poets in Yuan Dynasty, the gathering of monk poets and scholars, and the relationship between monk poets and poetic world. Part two is the case studies of monk poets in Yuan Dynasty, mainly discussing two monk poets named Shi Daxin and Shi Mingben. Shi Daxin had a great influence in the middle of Yuan Dynasty. He not only had a high status in Buddhism, but also produced lots of poems. Shi Mingben' political attitude was opposite to Shi Daxin's. He was noble and respected by the people at that time and also had great influence. It can be said that these two monk poets represented two monk powers, one cooperated with Yuan Dynasty and the other refused to. By studying the poetry creation of these two representative monk poets, we can see the basic situation of monk poets' creation in the Middle and Late Yuan Dynasty.
