The History, Present Situation, Problems And Solutions Of Applied Psychology Program In China

The Applied Psychology Program in China has cultivated a large number of undergraduates since it was established in the 90's. However, it has not been determined on how to set the course, establish the practice teaching system, improve the condition of teachers and hardware and better develop the student's creativity.There are 161 Applied Psychology Program as the samples in this study. By using the method of bibliometrics and content analysis, we explore the history, current situation, main problems and countermeasures of the Applied Psychology Program in China and in Shanxi University. The main results of this study are as follows:(1) There are significant differences between the number of Applied Psychology Program points of the eastern, central and western regions.(2) The level of knowledge management of the Applied Psychology Program is low as a whole.(3) There is no difference in the proportion of credits of public courses, specialized courses and practical classes of the Applied Psychology Program between eastern region and western, central regions. There is significant difference in the number of specialized necessary courses between the national or provincial key universities and the common universities, but there is on difference in the number of specialized courses or specialized elective courses in the two kinds of universities.(4) There is on difference in the proportion of "specialized practical teaching together" and "practical teaching in curriculum" in Applied Psychology Program in the key universities and in the common universities.(5) There is significant difference in the number of professors, vice professors, lecturers, assistants of Applied Psychology Program, associate professor. The number of professors and vice professors is large, while the number of lecturers and assistants is less. There is significant difference in the number of PhD, Master and bachelor, the number of Master is large, while the number of PhD and bachelor is less. In addition, there is significant difference in the total number of teachers and the number of professors, vice professors, lecturers, assistants between the eastern, central and western regions. The same to the number of PhD and Master, however there is difference in the number of bachelors between the 3 kinds of regions. There is no difference in the total number of teachers between the Medical universities and non-medical universities. The development of practice teachers is weaker, especially for the full-time practice teachers(6) There is difference in the area of psychology laboratory among the national key universities, provincial key universities and the common universities. There is no difference in the total number of equipment of psychology laboratory in the 3 kinds of universities. There is significant difference in the total value of equipment of psychology laboratory in the 3 kinds of universities. So is the number of 5 kinds of practice center.(7) The total number of specialized courses and specialized necessary courses of Applied Psychology Program in Shanxi University is less than that in other universities and the difference is significant. There is difference in the number of specialized elective courses in Shanxi University and in China.(8) The proportion of the credits in "specialized practical teaching together" in Shanxi University is at the average level in China. There is difference in the period of "practical teaching in curriculum" of Applied Psychology Program between Shanxi University and China, the former is higher.(9) There is no difference in the total number of teachers of Applied Psychology Program in Shanxi University and in China. So is the ratio of professors, vice professors, lecturers, assistants. The ratio of Ph.D., master, bachelor is the same.(10) There is great significant difference in the area of psychology laboratory in Shanxi University and in China. There is significant difference in the total number and total value of equipment of laboratory of Applied Psychology Program in Shanxi University and in China.
