From the view of geography, urban spatial structure refers to spacial distribution and combination of relations of the functional areas and urban land use. Individuals from the city, every city has its own external morphology, and different roles and different characteristics spatial structures are within the different parts in each city. As having significant and action in Shanghai's economic construction and urban construction——Minhang, with rapid growth of contemporary urbanization, its population and industry spatial structure changed quite a bit. Research on Minhang's spatial structure is better suited for knowing about the city of Shanghai development and trend. Due to the leading petrochemical of Shanghai, it provides reference about studying other cities'population and industry changesThe paper consists of six parts as follows:Chapter 1 introduces the purpose,significance,research methods and writing ideas of this thesis. Chapter 2 includes the rapid development of Minhang city and details the population and industry current situation. The Chapter 3 and 4 are the hard cores. The evolvement of spatial structure of Minhang's population and industry and their impetus are analyzed. Chapter 5 analyses the plans influences to population and industry. In the last chapter 6, conclusion and the limitations and suggestions for further studies are included.The main research findings and perspectives of this paper are listed as follows: On the whole, Minhang of Shanghai's spatial structures performance gathering momentum. The spatial structures of population bring down with a distance form city proper(People's Square in central areas) obviously; and the spatial structures of industry gather in the form of Parks.Its spatial changes are mostly the results of self-development of the region and the spread of Shanghai Center. Furthermore, because of multiple factors in the role, for example, the policy factor,geographic advantages,socio-economic development factor and large-scale construction project, population and industry are pulling together, which determine dynamic variations of Minhang's spatial structure.
