The dissertation has explored the series of "Three Kings" novels, including "the king of playing chess", "the king of planting trees" and "the king of teaching children".They are written by the contemporary writer A Cheng.Due to the cultural context of the "Root-seeking Literature",they were eventually given a Taoist cultural flavor in mid-80s in the 20th century. In order to research the non-cultural nature and structure the writing evolution of the fictions,the dissertation is mainly based on the work of the Taoist culture by analyzing for the fictions' texts.Under covering of the Taoist culture,the key questions will be solved as follows:which non-culture will the three novels show? which intrinsic links do they have? These will help to explore the psychological motivations of the series of "Three Kings" novels and reveal the potential causes of the "Root-seeking Literature". The name of the dissertation is THE COMPENSATION IN THE CULTURAL CONTEXT, which not only means writer's psychological compensation, but also means contemporary compensation of the "Root-seeking Literature".This dissertation is composed by three parts, the first part is the introduction, the second part is the body, and the third is the conclusion.In the introduction part, the dissertation explores the major causes of topics and research methods.Under the premise of concluding the theoretical advocacy and practical creation of the "Root-seeking Literature",the unique characteristics of the Taoist culture in the series of "Three Kings" novels will be received analysis. The existence of the Taoist cultural context covers true nature of the texts to some extent. In the review of previous research results, the research explores and interprets the texts hidden behind the Taoist culture.In the body part, the dissertation contains four chapters.From the chapter one to the chapter three,"the king of playing chess","the king of planting trees" and "the king of teaching children" are received interpretation separately. The specific process of analysis basically followed this thought:in the review of previous research results, followed by the Taoist cultural analysis of the text content, the true nature of the texts will be explored in the end.In the texts'interpretation, "the king of playing chess",as the focus, the characteristics of rejecting the Taoist culture in every text will be explored. In "the king of playing chess",the spirit of the Taoist culture in the chess is subversive to eating, which is the foundation for Yisheng Wang and the real writing for Cultural Revolution and contemporary. In "the king of planting trees",the protection of trees embodies the spirit of the Taoist culture which is deconstructed by cutting trees.The text shows that the recognition and shielding of self-identity. In "the king of teaching children",the teaching doesn't reflects the spirit of the Taoist culture, the text shows that the self-transcendence of the age imprisonment. In the comprehensive studies the series of "Three Kings" novels,the chapter four clearly shows that the mentality of writer's literary track and motivation which the "Root-seeking Literature" in the 20th century, this special period of the mid-80s appeared by the introduction of the psychological compensation theory.In the conclusion part, the dissertation further summarizes the conclusions of the research, and further explores some problems discovered in the research.
