As we all known, Lu SiMian (1884-1957), Who is a famous historian and historical educator in the modern history of historiography, his another name is chengzhi. He was born at WuJin, Where now is belongs to the Province of Jiangsu. Besides composing many supplementary books about history, he has produced lots of historical textbooks and popular literatures during his life. What s more, he has engaged in teaching almost 50 years. Now, many researchers has paid their attentions to his achievement of historiography. Unfortunately, Most of researchers still less discuss his thought and practice of historical teaching.For this reason, my project which based on the method of combining his historiography and the theory of historical education, will make use of the achievements of study to further discuss his educational thought and practice. From the broad perspective of the history of education, I will outline his teaching and educational theory of history. This thesis includes the introduction, body and conclusion, each part of the summary is as follows:Introduction of the topic which mainly sorts out his history educational thought, at the same time, will introduce the current academic research on the subject and research method. Body is divided into three chapters. The first chapter discuss many subjects which will focus on his the unique knowledge and practice of teaching, such as the educational purposes of history, curriculum, teaching methods and examination. The second chapter will analysis historical textbooks which he has edited during his life. The third chapter will discuss the achievements which include his thought of social education and lots of popular works. My project which reevaluate his position in modern history of education, will finally clarify some his educational thought and practice.As a historian, Lu Simian who taught from primary school to university, have rich actual teaching experience. Due to his unique teaching experience, he is different from other people. He has not only expanded his field of study, but also enriched the educational thought during the Republic of China. Through this research, I found his historical education which will provide some useful historical experience. I am sure that more and more historical researchers will concern about his ideas of education.
