Research On CAI Yi's Early Periodical Aesthetics Thought

As one of great masters in China's modern aesthetic history, Mr. Cai Yi used Marxist materialism to explain human being's aesthetic phenomenon consciously and systematically in the early 20th century, and preliminarily established a epistemological aesthetic system of modern academic form and unique personality. The author means to research the Cai Yi's position and contribution in the history of modern China's aesthetics development rationally and reveal the guidance value and contemporary significance of today's aesthetic research through deep study on Cai Yi's early periodical esthetics thought.This paper vertically analyze the source and innovation of Cai Yi's early periodical aesthetic ideas to highlight its construction to China's modern aesthetic development , combined with the times Cai Yi context and the overall situation of China's modern aesthetic development. Secondly, this paper analyze the logic beginning and method of Cai Yi's early periodical esthetics thought, then focuses on two theories of"Pretty is typical"and"esthetics concept", to reveals its unique aesthetic and academic value. Finally, this paper discusses its contribution to China's modern aesthetic development, as well as the contemporary significance of today's aesthetics study. Besides, the author reveals the existence of the theoretical shortcomings of their own, which resulted in its academic fate that it doesn't accepted generally by academic circle.
