A Study On The Previous Dynastic Poet Yan Ermei

Yan Ermei was a poet with the unique individuality and the bright creation characteristic during the beginning of Qing dynast. After the Ming and Qing Dynasties changed, he did not hesitate to throw the dwellings industry and rushed about in all directions to contact the anti-Qing person of integrity. His work expressesd his strong patriotic sentiment. But because of the anti-Qing thought in his work, the extant article edition "Yan Gugu Complete works"edited by Zhang Xiangwen had six volumes, of which five were poems, about 1794 altogether; one was an anthology. This article tries to give a detailed proof to Yan Ermei's biography and his thoughts, his previous dynastic status, his poetry content and artistic achievement and attempts to show a real Yan Ermei to us.The introduction mainly introduces the status of Yan Ermei during the Ming and Qing dynastries and the Ancient and modern scholar's appraisal to him.The first chapter introduces Yan Ermei's biography and his thoughts.This chapter first introduces Yan Ermei's family background. Through the analysis,we know Yan Ermei was a generous, wild uninhibited, tenacious and kind person, and his character has inseparable contact with his family heredity and the living conditions. Then the chapter elaborates Yan Ermei's biography. Yan Ermei was scintillated, had the broad ideal aspiration and was full of enthusiasm. Although his official career suffered frustrates, he was still optimistic. After the Ming dynast perished, facing the landscape torn to pieces, the common people destitute and homeless, he resolutely chose the path of anti-Qing. Although he didn't success finally, but the anti-Qing will was unchangeable. At last of this chapter, we'll analyse the Confucian thoughts received by Yan Ermei, his Literature thought and the change of Yan Ermei's thoughts.The second chapter introduces the way Yan Ermei lived as a previous dynastic person and the attitude to the new dynasty.As a previous dynastic person, no one had the right to choose how to live. Living between the Ming and Qing Dynasties , Yan Ermei chose to be a buddhist priest .One of the reasons that he did this was he didn't want to submit to the Qing government. Another reason was it is helpful to his anti-Qing behavior. It can be said that Yan Ermei had never accepted the Qing government from beginning to end. He always regarded himself as the Ming Dynasty person. But his attitude to persons who accepted the Qing dynasty was different. He extremely loathed the wrigglers and the officials of Qing government and expressed his understanding even his sympathizes to the persons who were forced to be Qing officials.The third chapter introduces Yan Ermei's poetry content.This chapter is divided into five parts. Yan Ermei's poetry are divided into"the poetry of historical significance", poetry of scenery travel diary, poetry of chanting the history bosom ancient, poetry with his friends and poetry to his family. The poetry of historical significance expressed the poet's sentiment that concerned about country and people and reappeared the society that the landscape was torn to pieces and the common people were destitute and homeless during the Ming and Qing Dynasties. The poetry of scenery travel diary were divided into two times at the time of Ming demised: At the earlier period, Yan Ermei was a young man full of enthusiasm and was going to Beijing to see the Emperor. He was self-satisfied very much. So in the poems the write expressed his sentiment of deep love to his motherland. After Ming dynastry demised, the country's broken made him distressed. He put his patriotic sentiment to the poetic composition and expressed the strong will.
