Promulgated by the department of Higher Education of the Chinese ministry of education, vocational education in English teaching basic requirements (for trial implementation) proposed to develop higher vocational students' self-learning English ability in order to lay a solid foundation of students'lifelong learning, which not only reflect the requirements of social development of talent, but also accord with the requirement of learners themselves. This paper analyses the current English learning situation of the higher vocational colleges students of the non-English major, found that the current higher vocational English teaching make against the training of language skills , teacher's teaching mode is single not able to motivate the students'enthusiasm to learn English and students' autonomous learning ability is generally low. In this situation, this paper analyzed the influence students' self-learning English ability; identify factors of forming the cultivation of students' autonomous learning ability, and the method to improve vocational students' good English autonomous learning ability.This paper is divided into six parts:The first part is introduction; mainly introduces the significance of research and study.The second part is introducing the autonomy learning theory and the theoretical principle of autonomy learning theory, including the research of cognitive psychology, constructivism and humanistic psychology.The third part is the higher vocational students' English autonomous learning, summarizes the higher vocational student's autonomy English learning problems through the investigation and study of the English autonomous learning.The fourth part is the main factors of the influence of the higher vocational students' autonomous learning ability. Through the analysis, there are two aspects of the influence factors: internal factors and external factors. Internal factors include learning motivation, goal setting, met cognitive development level and will control level; External factors include the relationship between teachers and students, teaching mode and learning methods, the use of technology and family education.The fifth part is the method to develop higher vocational students' English ability of autonomous learning, elaborated the following ways, from the internal and external factors and the characteristics of higher vocational students. One is to inspire students' learning motivation and interest in learning, Second is guiding students to master the scientific learning method, third is to use mission driving method of cultivating students' ability to study independently.The sixth is the end of this paper, makes a summary.
